76th Annual FAR WESTERN CHAMPIONSHIPS

76th Annual Far Western (C/J/O/W)

Red and blue singlets required, no school uniforms allowed. Uniform requirement is enforced at weigh-ins as specified in USAW rules.

There is no kids division at the Far Western.
Entry fee: $15.00
Awards: Trophies to the top three placers in each weight.
USAW card required.

REQUIREMENTS:
USAW Current Membership Card All wrestlers may be required to show proof of age. Birth Certificate or photo ID with birth date. Red and Blue Singlets required, no school uniforms allowed.
OFFICIALS:
Mat and pairing officials must be licensed, minimum age 16 years old. Licensed officials will be paid a stipend based on entry fees. Mat officials may wear either the new blue and gray uniform or classic whites.
FORMAT:
Open to all USA Wrestling Card Members. USA Wrestling – Athlete’s Card will be sold on site ALL USA Coach’s Cards MUST be purchased on-line. *Background check required to purchase your coach’s card. https://www.themat.com/membership/
REGISTRATION:
Pre-registration at www.trackwrestling.com - $10
On site registration costs - $15
WEIGHT VERIFICATION (NO WEIGHT CUTTING):
Weight verification is done mat side. Athlete must be within 6 lbs of designated weight when they register on trackwrestling.com or they will forfeit their advancement in the tournament.
TIMES:
On site registration 7:00 am – 8:30 a.m.
Rules Clinic at 9:20 a.m.
Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m.
We project our tournaments to end between 1 and 3 p.m.
AGE GROUPS:
WEIGHT CLASSES:
Weights will be pooled. Weight cutting is not encouraged.
MAT REPORTING:
Athletes are assigned to mats by age groups and weights. Bout numbers will be used to stage wrestlers on mats. Athletes must be dressed ready to wrestle before arriving mat side.
STAGING:
Athletes are staged using trackwrestling.com and TV Monitor System. Results are directly inputted into the Track Wrestling Web site.
COMPETITION:
Bantams, Intermediate and Novice wrestle 45 Second rounds
School Boys wrestle 3 x 1 minute rounds.
AWARDS:
Awards given at mat side immediately after match is completed.
Participant pins for all kids age 7-12.
No placing medals for kids under 12.
Medals for School Boys, Cadets, Juniors and Opens 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
