It's been a busy few weeks for your Cardinal wrestlers. We were upended by the Missouri Tigers on November 27th. Although we lost the dual decisively, I was pleased with the performances from Ryan Mango (133 pounds), Nick Amuchastegui (174 pounds) and Dan Scherer (Heavyweight). All three faced very tough opponents and won their matches convincingly. Ryan and Nick both knocked off top ten ranked opponents (#9 and #4, respectively) and Dan Scherer continued to make strides with a win over a solid competitor. Dan is adjusting nicely to his new weight class! To read the complete release, please click here.

Following our loss to Missouri, we traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Cliff Keen Invitational. We had a less than average showing with only two wrestlers placing in the top eight at their respective weight classes (Ryan Mango finished 7th and Nick Amuchastegui finished 6th). Up Next
Despite the struggles as of late, the coaching staff and team have been working hard to turn around our performances. We are excited for this coming weekend's trip to the prestigious Reno Tournament of Champions which will take place on Sunday, December 18th in Reno, Nevada.

NCAA Tickets Available
I am very excited to announce that our 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championship tickets have arrived. The Stanford Wrestling program was allotted 77 sets of tickets in the lower bowl (Section 111) of the Scottrade Center. We are in the process of putting together a Stanford Wrestling Fan Package which will include a ticket to each session of the NCAA Championships and three Stanford Wrestling t-shirts (a different shirt for each day of the championships). If you are interested, please email Alex Tirapelle  immediately, as we anticipate that our allotment will sell quickly.
